Julia and her sister are so close together in age and likeness that folks swear they’re twins. In fact, Julia is a year older than Justine, though they are practically inseparable. Julia is an even tempered child, easy to get along with and always happy. She isn’t as fiery as her sister, nor does she care about books, but she doesn’t let anyone push her around either: Julia is remarkably self-sufficient and confident enough that she goes her own way if she really wants to. She doesn’t understand her brother, Nathan’s, obsession with girls and only tries to be “ladylike” when her mother is watching. What she really likes to do is explore the woods with Justine because that’s where they see the fairies.
